Description

Another addition to our ripe (shu) puerh collection — a more affordable (younger) alternative to the already beloved Menghai Qi Zi Puerh (2009).

Though this relatively young puerh may lack the subtle depth of its “elder brother,” many of our customers appreciate the brighter, bolder character of younger teas.

Made in Yunnan from large-leaf Da Ye Zhong Shai Qing Mao, with no additives. Type: ripe (shu) — fermented, aged, pressed Chinese puerh.

The brew is full-bodied, with a thick dark-brown to reddish liquor. Its taste is rich, smooth, and earthy, with malty notes, complex floral hints, and a light honeyed finish.

HOW TO BREW RIPE PUER TEA

Using the knife accurately separate some tea leaves along the layers. Brew 2 tea spoons per 500 ml filtered boiled water. Cover with a lid, strain after 2-3 minutes and serve. You can brew the leaves a second and even a third time, adding a minute or two to the brewing time

Pick teaware

—  For more delicate types of tea, like white or green, glass or porcelain teapots are better while for oolongs, black teas and puerhs clay teapots are preferred
