Description

Tai Ping Hou Kui literally means “peaceful monkey leader” aka, Monkey King Green, and is grown at the foothill of Huangshan in the Anhui province. Its breathtaking elegantly long emerald leaves are hand-pressed, bringing a dry aroma of un-roasted chestnuts and light fruitiness. The liquor is light-bodied and delicate with nuances of nut, and a touch of sweet grass. The floral and apricot notes linger nicely on the palate.

HOW TO BREW TAIPING HOUKUI GREEN TEA

Brew 10-20 tea leaves per 200 ml filtered water that was boiled and cooled to 70°. Cover with a lid, strain after 1-2 minutes and serve. You can brew the leaves a second and a third time, adding a minute or two to the brewing time. Show Brewing TipSince the size of the leaves can make it difficult to brew with the traditional method, we recommend not breaking the leaves, but resting them on the inner wall of the jug (similar to the beginning of cooking spaghetti), pouring hot water and allowing the leaves to soften and sink into the brew.

Pick teaware

—  For more delicate types of tea, like white or green, glass or porcelain teapots are better while for oolongs, black teas and puerhs clay teapots are preferred
